Subsurface Impact Delineation, State Highway Corridor – Indiana

SurePoint conducted a subsurface investigation for the State of Indiana to determine the horizontal extent of impacts to right-of-way properties within a State Highway corridor. Horizontal impacts were delineated to establish boundaries where special waste handling practices would be required during road re-construction and municipal sewer construction activities (i.e. waste characterization and/or disposal of excavated soils and dewatering waste).

In addition to delineating a known, existing subsurface plume, this investigation also included identification of properties within the corridor whose historic operations may have adversely affected the subsurface environment. As part of the investigation SurePoint advanced over 30 soil borings using direct push technology to collect soil and groundwater samples for laboratory analysis to identify these areas.
